GEMMA Whelan has seen her career soar after starring in the smash-hit series Game Of Thrones.
The actress is now back on the box in ITV’s DI Ray.

Who is Gemma Whelan?
Gemma Whelan is a 41-year-old actress born and raised in Leeds.
She attended The King’s High School for Girls in Warwick and the London Studio Centre.
Whelan is best known for starring in the popular fantasy series, Game Of Thrones.
She is also a comedian, and won a Funny Women Variety Award for her stand-up shows in 2010.
Proving there’s more than one string to her bow, she is also a professional dancer – specialising in tap dance and jazz – and is a member of London-based dance troupe the Beaux Belles.

Is Gemma married?
Gemma is married to comedian and actor Gerry Howell.
Howell appeared in the 2006 Channel 4 reality-competition series The Play’s The Thing.
On May 13, 2020, Gemma posted a pic of their wedding day on Instagram and wrote: “Three years married today! This is us on our wedding day after a lot of jolly – him more than me as I was five months pregnant – SHOTGUN!”
The pair live in London with their daughter Frances – born in 2017 – and their son Freddie, who arrived in October 2021.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on May 2, 2022, Whelan revealed that she would still be willing to return to Game Of Thrones ahead of its new spin-off.
GMB presenter Kate Garraway asked Whelan if she would return to the HBO series, to which Whelan confirmed: “I would love to do it again.”
